Queen and the Music of Darryl Tookes. The reigning Ms. United States Woman will
be seen in a new television commercial for the
Darryl Tookes Band’s CD, Journey To The Hieros
Gamos. Produced by William Heaton Records of Boca
Raton, the 30 and 60 second commercials are scheduled
to launch this September in Palm Beach and Broward
counties on Several Channels. “Hieros Gamos” translated
from the Greek to English means Sacred Marriage.
Director Eddie Garduño of Clear Vision Pictures
set out to create a cinematic feel that would project
this idea of relational harmony. The “Journey
To The Hieros Gamos” CD was mixed by multi-Grammy
winning engineer Eric Schlling. Garduño,
who also directed Tookes’ “Elephant
In The Room” video, gave the commercial a
feel of elegance, sophistication and romance. Label
president Roland Moriarty chose Dawn Basham for
the campaign based upon what he describes as her “inner
light.” Along with her duties as the reigning
Ms. United States Woman, the radiant Ms. Basham
is a motivational speaker, and spokesperson for
Child Lures Protection. Handsome South American
actor and model Javier Montalvo is well suited
opposite Ms. Basham. Mr. Montalvo, who spoke of
being nervous and shy during the shoot, exudes
confidence on camera, adding vulnerability to the
characteristics of the classic leading man. These
commercials are sure to pique interest in this
wonderful project, the sensitive music and allure
of these fine musicians – The Darryl Tookes
Band, and their new CD, “Journey To The Hieros
Gamos.”

Darryl Tookes Band will be performing at Boston's
prestigious Scullers Jazz Club on
Wednesday, August 8. Scullers is one of the
premiere venues for great music in the world
of jazz, and in the world. We hope that you

a prolific composer and lyricist who is writing
in a completely original voice. A gifted pianist,
singer and arranger – Darryl has the voice that is often called ‘angelic’ (NY Newsday). A sound that is both sensual and spiritual.
Guitar virtuoso Rolando Grosscors’ breathtaking performance is born of a vast reserve that flows through his hands directly to the heart and soul of the listener.
Drummer Rodolfo Zuniga is all power and abandon, sweet dashing flair. A flourishing sensitivity creates the atmosphere for Tookes’ lyrical imagery.
